Our Calling

The calling of the Methodist Church is to respond to the gospel of God's love in Christ and to live out our discipleship in worship and mission. We do this through:

Worship

The Church exists to increase awareness of God's presence and to celebrate God's love

Learning and Caring

The Church exists to help people to grow and learn as Christians, through mutual support and care

Sharing

The Church exists to be a good neighbour to people in need and to challenge injustice

Our Calling Poster

Evangelism

The Church exists to make more followers of Jesus Christ

This underpins everything we do in our churches, in our Circuit and in our everyday lives. We are called to be a growing, inclusive, evangelistic and justice-seeking Church.

We welcome everyone, point people towards God, call people to personal holiness in Christ and we challenge injustice.

Personal Salvation  is important to Methodists and central to our way of thinking (our theology).  Our founder, John Wesley, developed 'The Four Alls' of Methodism;

All must be saved;   All can be saved;   All can know that they are saved;   All can be saved to the uttermost
